Charity Auction

Equality Texas is the largest statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to ending discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community through education, political advocacy, and grassroots organizing. For over 30 years, Equality Texas has been a powerhouse in the Texas Legislature, working to defeat harmful legislation targeting our community. During the 2023 session, we successfully blocked 95% of the anti-LGBTQIA+ bills.

Our staff and board members are spread out across the state, allowing us to be on the ground and engaging with community members from El Paso to Tyler and Amarillo down to Brownsville. During election season, you can find us registering people to vote, blockwalking to speak directly with constituents, and even hosting candidate forums focused on LGBTQIA+ issues. A huge part of this work involves educating our fellow Texans, and we strive to create educational content and resources that are helpful, engaging, and accessible.

Fighting for our community is the heart of our work, but cultivating opportunities for queer joy is the soul of it. Last year, we attended over 80 Pride events in communities across the state. Each of these events, no matter how big or small, allows us to connect with new people and better understand the hopes, fears, dreams, and experiences of LGBTQIA+ Texans.
